EXCLUSIVE: DJ Jazzy Jeff Remixes Peter Bjorn and John
August 24, 2009

Peter Bjorn and John may be the indie rockers with the most street cred in the hip-hop 'hood.

Last spring, the Swedes released Living Thing, their latest album that traded their characteristic pop guitars for bangin' beats -- and hip-hop heads took notice. Mixtape master Mick Boogie curated a remix of the album, Re-Living Thing (out August 27), working with PBJ to recruit MCs Talib Kweli, GZA, Wale and others to contribute. Among them: DJ Jazzy Jeff, who remixes "Stay This Way" under rhymes from Big Pooh (of Little Brother), Phil Nash, and Chaundon. Download the song below.

Re-Living Thing is just the latest nugget of praise the hip-hop community has laid on PBJ. Last year, Kanye West sampled the trio's 2006 hit "Young Folks" for his Can't Tell Me Nothing mixtape and joined the group live at a Swedish festival [Link [Link]]. 'Ye was so smitten with PBJ's Living Thing track "Nothing to Worry About," he even leaked it on his blog **. Lil Wayne protg Drake also worked with the group on "Let's Call It Off," a cut from his album So Far Gone.

Peter Bjorn and John recently dropped by SPIN HQ to play a stripped down set of new tracks. Watch video of the performance here.
